First stop on our backpacking adventure was Vientiane, the capital city of Laos situated in the Mekong Valley. Since the city has a really relaxed atmosphere, it has a small town feel to it. My favorite touristy spot was Pha That Luang, the largest gold-covered Buddha temple in Vientiane. My only travel advice to backpackers visiting Vientiane is that you won’t need more than a couple days there.
